Why our jars are heavy

Thick glass is meant to be kept. The refill pods that click inside it are how we use less of everything else.

Pressing a refill pod into an aune glass cream jar

People pick up an Aune jar and say the same thing: it is heavier than they expected. That is deliberate. A thick glass jar with a solid base is something you keep on a shelf for years, not something you throw away in six weeks.

How the refill works

Our creams and body care come as a light recyclable pod that clicks into the jar you already have. Lift the old pod out, press the new one in, put the lid back on. The refill costs less than the full jar every time.

What it saves

We would rather not print a percentage we cannot defend. What we can say is simple: a refill pod uses a fraction of the material of a new jar, ships lighter, and leaves you with nothing heavy to recycle.

Pumps and droppers are harder, because they mix materials. Send them back with any return and we sort and recycle them properly, which most kerbside schemes cannot.
